Announcements
Feb 1, 2009As you all know, this game is completely free to play; however there are always costs involved with running a website that need to be covered. For this I have added adverts to the site, though, some people have seemed unhappy with this. Therefore I am pleased to offer a "Gold Package" which can be used to play the game 100% advert free; making a better gaimg experience for everyone, whilst still helping to cover the running costs...
Jan 27, 2009Sorry about the downtime earlier. It was caused by two things: #1) I was trying to fix an error on the 'messages' page. #2) The server blocked my IP address!!! This meant I couldn't fix the problem 'til I was unblocked. The error in the first place was caused by the same thing that caused my lack of access to the site. In other words the error was not my fault and it made itself worse!
Jan 26, 2009Just a quick announcement to let you know about the new lottery. You can find this in the casino. Don't forget to save a casino token to play each day! I've given you all an extra token, just in case you have already used yours up!
Jan 21, 2009Basically the way banking and raiding is done has been changed.

It made no sense that when you raid you get a proportion of the player's money. How would the money get into the ship you are raiding if it was gained in a different ship? Also banking, you could bank all the money gained from any/all your ships, even if it was travelling. Where was the logic in either of these???

Raiding is still performed in the same way, but: You can only raid the money that is in that ship. If it has no money, but the player has 100,000 credits in other ships you can't have any! If the ship has just docked and got it's payment then you can raid the money that is in there. If the player hasn't banked in a while then there may be loads of credits to have.

Which neatly brings me to the next change. The ships themselves carry the credits after getting paid. A ship arrives at it's destination get 238 credits for it's cargo delivery and the ship will then hold 238 credits. It will stay in that ship until it is banked. It can only be banked when the ship is docked at a planet with a bank, which initially will be all planets. When you bank, all the ships at a planet with a bank will have their credits secured in the bank and the credits are then safe from raids.

The other side-effect to this is parts, crew, bills etc are all paid from the bank. You don't use your 'money' for anything anymore. It is just a total of all the credits held in all your ships. Obvisouly there is no need to take money out of the bank anymore, therefore you can't.

All rants in the forum, please ;)
Jan 13, 2009There hasn't been an announcement for quite a while so I thought it was about time, in case you've not noticed some of the features that have been added recently.

There is a casino now. Everyday you get tokens which you can use in the casino. You need to take a ship to certain planets to access the casino, you can find out which planets by clicking on casino in the top menu.

You will occasionally be offered a dodgy package to take. You may refuse or accept. You may end up getting a big reward, but if you are caught you will get a BIG fine.

Don't forget to visit the rewards page. You can get 'goodies' for helping the site get even more popular.

Cargo selection became less fiddly recently. You can select the order you want potential cargo displayed and see which places you already have cargo for to aid in selection of extra cargo. The load cargo button vanishes for cargo that won't fit in which saves you trying to fit too much in. You can plot the course directly from the cargo selection page which saves a bit of clicking. Also you can dump cargo you have changed your mind about.

Raiding slightly changed in two respects. Number one: raids sometimes fail. Number 2: you can hire security to aid in defending against raids and helping with raiding.

When you join you are automatically assigned as a 'noob'. Whilst in the mode you can't do certain things which might mess the game up for you. For example you can't buy unneeded items in the parts shop. Several people accidently over-spent on certain things and then couldn't play, this prevents that. You can leave 'noob mode' when you have performed several actions.

Banking was changed. You can bank as often as you want.

And finally you have a friend/enemy list. Keep track of people who you know or people who always raid your hard-earned credits!
